Neural Therapy

What is neural therapy?

Neural therapy consists of injecting very low doses of local anaesthetic into certain areas of the body (trigger points). It is considered a form of alternative medicine, especially when used in the treatment of chronic pain and diseases. Its main benefit is that it does not have side effects nor does it usually have complications. The most common substance used in the injections is procaine (also called Novocain).

Why is it done?

It can be used as an alternative treatment for several conditions such as:

What does it consist of?

Neural therapy is a gentle healing method that consists of injecting a local anaesthetic (most commonly procaine) into certain areas of the body in low doses. The aim is to repair a damaged portion skin which is sending signals of pain to the autonomic nervous system (ANS). Neural therapy stimulates a lasting change to this nerve function and promotes healing of the ANS

Preparation for neural therapy

Before the neural therapy session, the specialist will collect the patient's medical history.

Care after the intervention

Neural therapy has no side effects and the patient will not require any special care after the session. You will be able to resume your normal activity immediately after the session.

Alternatives

Neural therapy is considered an alternative treatment to surgery or pain medication. Experts in neural therapy recommend combining it with other treatments and care such as homoeopathy, biological nutrition or psychological support to improve results.
